Brandi Cummings Promoted to AM Anchor at Sacramento’s KCRA

KCRA has promoted Brandi Cummings (pictured right) to morning anchor effective immediately.

Cummings will join Ty Steele (pictured left) as co-anchor of the Sacramento NBC affiliate’s news on My58 at 7 and 8 a.m. She’ll also  join Deirdre Fitzpatrick, Teo Torres, Tamara Berg and Melanie Hunter during the KCRA morning newscast.

“Brandi is committed to showcasing our community and helping our viewers get the best information each day,” said KCRA news director Derek Schnell. “It’s exciting to see a talented journalist take on an even bigger role on our team and I know viewers will enjoy waking up with Brandi.”

“We’re proud to add a valuable female voice to the KCRA 3 anchor desk each morning,” said KCRA-KQCA president and general manager Ariel Roblin. “Brandi has already proven to be an outstanding journalist and member of our news team.”

Cummings has been the weekend evening anchor at KCRA while also reporting for the weekday evening newscasts.

Before joining KCRA, Cummings worked at WAVY in Portsmouth, Va., WTOC in Savannah, Ga, WIS in Columbia, S.C., and at WRDW in her hometown of Augusta, Ga.
