Boston’s WBZ Introduces 4:30am Newscast

NECN just launched a 4:30 a.m. local newscast–the earliest one in the Boston TV market–and now WBZ-TV is following suit.

Channel 4 announced today that it plans to start its early morning news a half-hour earlier at 4:30 a.m. beginning Monday. Paula Ebben and David Wade will anchor.

“We often hear from viewers that ‘there just aren’t enough hours in a day,’and we find people are starting their days earlier and are looking for local news,” new director John Verrilli said in a press release. More…
