Boston’s WBZ Debuts New Set Design, Graphics

WBZ, the CBS O&O in Boston, is debuting a “state-of-the-art, whiz-bang” new look tonight, according to the Boston Herald.

After six months of construction, the station will debut a new set (pictured here with anchors Jack Williams and Lisa Hughes) and graphics package on its evening newscasts today. The new facilities, which were upgraded after 10 years in the old studio, feature high-definition monitors, energy-efficient LED lights and blue-illuminated anchor and weather desks.

“The new set is so much bigger and we have a lot more options,” news director John Verrillitold the Herald.It’s clean, sharp and the new lighting makes the anchors look terrific. It’s not just a set for set’s sake.”
