Boston Icon Celebrates 35 Years at WBZ

WBZ-TV icon Jack Williams–one of the last prominent anchors on Boston TV news–said he has no plans to sail off into the sunset as he celebrated 35 years at the station yesterday.

Known for his wit, gentlemanly voice and tireless efforts to help special needs kids through his “Wednesday’s Child” series, the 66-year-old Williams said he likes his TV job too much to retire.

“We’re blessed to be comfortable enough. I certainly could retire if I wanted to, but I don’t want to,” Williams told MediaBiz during an interview at his Channel 4 office, where the walls are plastered with photos and accolades. More…
