Boston FOX Station Adds Minneapolis Anchor

By Kevin Eck

Joy Lim Nakrin will join Boston FOX owned station WFXT as an anchor, reporter and legal expert.

Currently, Nakrin is a reporter and weekend anchor for Minneapolis ABC affiliate KSTP.

“We wanted her to stay here and we made her an offer to stay,” KSTP news director Lindsay Radford told the Pioneer Press. “We know it was a tough decision for her. At the end of the day, her hometown called. It was an opportunity that was tough to say ‘no’ to.”

According to the Pioneer Press, Nakrin’s last day on-air will be October 13.

When the Minneapolis Star-Tribune asked Radford if she was concerned that Nakrin’s departure left the station with only one person of color on-air, Radford said, “Not really. I look at who is the best. Diversity is important, but I’m looking for the most talented journalist. I look first at who’s going to be good.”

Nakrin came to KSTP from WTIC in Hartford, CT. She also worked for ESPN STAR Sports, where she was an anchor and reporter.
