Boston Anchor Reveals She’s Pregnant and Battling Breast Cancer

By Stephanie Tsoflias Siegel

NBC Boston meteorologist, Jacqueline Bennett, has opened up about some frightening medical news on Facebook.

“Some of you have been asking where I’ve been. About six weeks ago, I found out I’m pregnant with baby #2. Our excitement was cut short when I was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer 9 days later. I already had surgery to remove the tumor, which was successful. Thankfully, there is no indication the cancer has spread. I’m now preparing to undergo chemotherapy, which my doctors are certain is safe in pregnancy,” said said in her post with a sonogram attached.

Bennett has been active on social media but is not back on the air.

“Your prayers and good thoughts are appreciated as I go through this trying treatment which will hopefully eradicate the cancer for good. On a happier note, here is the latest scan of baby in his/her 11th week. Progressing beautifully, which is all I ask for!”

Bennett appears on the station’s noon shows and on NBC Boston’s sister station, NECN.
