KTVB anchor Carolyn Holly says she’s retiring after 34 years in the local TV business.

Holly started her career working part-time for KGW in Portland. She then moved on to a full time reporter position at KIFI in Idaho Falls, before joining Boise NBC affiliate KTVB in 1982 as a weekend and morning news anchor.

“I’ve loved every minute of it and I will continue on the air until the end of Feb.,” she wrote on Facebook. “After that, I will start the next chapter of my life as an executive at Saint Alphonsus Health System.”

“Let me end by saying thank you. I’ve cherished every moment at KTVB,” she wrote in a letter to KTVB viewers. “We are a family and that includes you the viewers. We report for you, with you and together we’re doing something special in a place we are so fortunate to call home.”
