Baylor Long has been named news director at the Hearst-owned Birmingham, Ala. NBC affiliate WVTM.

This is a move within Hearst for Long, who is presently the assistant news director at Hearst-owned WTAE in Pittsburgh. Long takes over for Sue Stephens, who is retiring this month.

Susana Schuler, president and general manager of WVTM, said Baylor will be a valuable addition to the station.
