Big-Name Guests Help Larry King’s Ratings

Bolstered by heavily promoted interviews with Barack Obama and Lebron James, CNN’s Larry King last week enjoyed some of his highest-rated shows in many months.

Last week was Mr. King’s 25th anniversary at CNN, an achievement that he repeatedly cited during the interviews.

The interviews were enough to give Mr. King a rare victory over MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow among viewers ages 25 to 54, the demographic favored by cable news advertisers.

But Ms. Maddow still topped Mr. King among total viewers, and both shows fell far behind the Fox News Channel’s Sean Hannity, as usual. More…
