Bay Area Homecoming for New KGO-TV Traffic Reporter

Megan Marlena is back in the Bay Area as a morning traffic reporter for KGO-TV, an ABC affiliate, after being in Southern California for nearly 10 years.

The 29-year-old was ushered to the regional stage four months ago, but years earlier she had spent her adolescent years heavily involved in local performing arts programs.

And before that, as a little girl, Marlena spent her days with her mother and little sister at her mother’s hair salon in Concord. She recalled times when she and her family would dance around with each other. It’s with her family that her passion for arts grew.

“The three of us were always performing in the house and always being silly.” Marlena said. “It was always something I just loved to do.”

While a student at Ygnacio Valley High School, she decided she wanted to become a journalist, she said. More…
