Bank Robbed During Reporter’s Liveshot on Earlier Bank Robbery

By Mark Joyella

Sometimes the follow-up story happens while you’re reporting the original story. At least, that’s how it worked out for KIMT reporter Adam Sallet.

Sallet was in the middle of a live report–about a bank robbery–for the Mason City, Iowa, CBS station when a bank employee rushed into the shot, pointing at a man he identified as the robber–who had just hit the bank for a second time.

“My first instinct was to see if I could see the suspect anywhere else and also call 911 as fast as possible,” Sallet said later.

KIMT reports a suspect in the robberies was later taken into custody.
