Baltimore Anchor Moves to SportsCenter on ESPN

Former local sports anchor Max McGee is joining ESPN as a SportsCenter anchor.

McGee comes from WJZ in Baltimore, where he’s worked as a news and sports anchor for the past three years.

“I’m so fired up to be with the best in the business,” said McGee. “Every stop in my career has helped prepare me for this, so I’m eager to get started.”

McGee was a sports and news anchor at WMBF in Myrtle Beach-Florence, S.C. before joining WJZ. He began his television career as a reporter and producer at KPLC in Lake Charles, La.

He starts at ESPN on Jan. 31.
