WJBF meteorologist Kevin Andrew Niewood was arrested last week for allegedly trading sexually explicit photos with a 13-year-old girl over the internet.
Augusta Crime reports Niewood was charged with sexual exploitation of a minor and electronically furnishing obscene material to a minor.
“We are deeply concerned by the allegations,” station GM Bill Stewart said in part.

On Thursday, WJBF reported Niewood had been suspended from his duties pending an investigation. He’s worked there since 2014.
