Attorney Says Meredith Suing Former WNEM Reporter Because of Sexual Orientation

The Saginaw attorney for former WNEM reporter Nick Lulli says station owner Meredith Corporation is suing his client because of his sexual orientation.

Meredith is seeking nearly $9,000 from Lulli for breach of contract and unjust enrichment after Lulli left the Saginaw CBS affiliate one year into a four year contract.

“I feel that they actually discriminated against him based on their view of what a certain gender stereotype should be,” Lulli’s lawyer, Victor J. Mastromarco, Jr., told MLive. “We intend to amend the counter complaint and amend his answer.”

Lulli is countersuing Meredith for assault and discrimination.

“I’m not hoping for anything,” said Mastromarco, Jr. “I want justice for him.”
