David Wilkinson says he left Atlanta NBC Affiliate WXIA earlier this month to take a job in the corporate world.
“Bittersweet announcement,” Wilkinson wrote on Facebook on Aug. 4. “I have elected to leave 11Alive and go into the corporate world. I will be working for a marketing agency and fittingly enough, will be part of their television department, so I’ll still get to do some of the elements from this job that I love. I love what I do but I needed something that allows me to see my family more and this does.”
Wilkinson’s last day was Aug. 6.

He started working at WXIA in August 2014 after working at WBNS in Columbus, Ohio. He started his career at WNCF in Montgomery, Ala.
