Atlanta Anchor’s Next Move: Humanitarian Work

WAGA anchor Cynné Simpson will leave the news business after six years at the Fox station in Atlanta to do humanitarian work.

She made the announcement on Facebook then gave the viewers the news on the 5 p.m. newscast.

“I’ll be volunteering with humanitarian aid organizations around the world. For so many years, I’ve reported on economic, social and environmental challenges. I’m eager to now get involved and hopefully, help me a difference,” she said.

Simpson has been in the broadcast business for 20 years including a stint at the CBS affiliate in the market from 2003-2007.
