Angie Goff Named Main Anchor of Fox 5 D.C.

By Stephanie Tsoflias Siegel

A longtime news anchor in the Washington, D.C., market is now WTTG‘s main evening anchor.

The station has named Angie Goff as the replacement for Shawn Yancy, who left last month. She will anchor the station’s 10 p.m. show as well as the 4 p.m. and 6 p.m newscasts.

Goff has been with the station since 2019, and previously worked at WRC, D.C.’s NBC station, as the weekend morning anchor.

“Angie is tireless and her energy is infectious. She has proven herself in every newscast, and we’re confident her new permanent home at 10 p.m. will be the best fit yet,” said vp and news director Paul McGonagle.

“Now that I’ve had the pleasure of waking up with our viewers and giving them a chance to get to know me better, I look forward to transitioning the focus of my energy on continuing our momentum in the evenings,” said Goff.

She starts her new role on Nov. 30.
