Houston NBC affiliate KPRC has announced the addition of Sofia Ojeda to its weekend news team.
The station confirmed to Houston media blogger Mike McGuff that Ojeda will be the weekend morning anchor, in addition to reporting three days a week.
Ojeda spent the last five years at WNEP, the Scranton, Pa., ABC affiliate. She worked her way up from reporter to weekend anchor to weekday evening anchor.

On Monday, on Ojeda’s new KRPC Facebook page, she wrote:
I am finally here in Houston! I drove through 12 states from upstate New York, leaving my former station WNEP in Scranton for the sunnier and much HOTTER days here in Texas! Can’t wait to get started!
She began her new position on March 23.
