Anchor Signs Off After 12 Years, Contract Not Renewed By WGNO

WGNO-Channel 26 anchor Liz Reyes signed off the 10 p.m. newscast Wednesday, Aug. 5, with a farewell to viewers.

Reyes was told by station management several weeks ago that her contract wouldn’t be renewed, she said on Thursday, Aug. 5.

“It was devastating news when I got (the news),” said Reyes, who had worked at WGNO since 1997 after TV news posts in Florida and Canada. “It came as a surprise.”
