Anchor Set to Return After Bout With Bell’s Palsy

KPRC (Houston, Channel 2) anchor Owen Conflenti said Thursday he is suffering from a mild case of Bell’s palsy but hopes to return to work next week and plans to be on hand to help launch the station’s new 4:30 a.m. newscast Aug. 24.

Conflenti has been off the air this week recovering from the illness, which affects a facial nerve, causing swelling and affecting the ability to control muscles on one side of the face.

“It’s a mild case, but we all know our faces,” Conflenti said. “I can tell that my smile is a little crooked.” More…
