Even after fifty years in TV news, anchor Mike Landess just wasn’t ready to give up the anchor desk. On Monday, Landess was back at work, at Tyler, Texas CBS affiliate KYTX. “I never really left East Texas, not in my heart,” he said in a post on the station’s website.
Landess retired from Denver’s KMGH on August 28, without revealing what he planned to do next. “I’ve loved this job,” he said then. “But I’m excited to move on to whatever the next phase is.” Move he did, back home to Texas, where his reporting career began in the 1960’s as a high school senior.
