Anchor Leaving KMIR After 16 Years

Local news anchor Karen Devine is leaving KMIR6 when her contract ends in September, executives with the NBC affiliate said today.

Her departure after 16 years at the station comes after a new contract could not be negotiated, said Lyle Schulze, vice president and general manager. An announcement to the staff was slated for 4 p.m. today.

“She has been a dedicated and valued employee of KMIR6 and the Journal Broadcast Group,” Schulze said. He added that she was a “tremendous journalist and fine, fine person” who would be missed within the KMIR family. More…
