Karen Adams, who has anchored WAAY-TV Channel 31’s evening news since 2007, has resigned and is moving to Jacksonville, Fla., to be closer to home.
Adams said last week that she’s headed to Jacksonville soon and will anchor the evening news for WTEV-WAWS-TV, which is a Fox and CBS station, starting Jan. 4. She’s excited because she has family in nearby Delray Beach, Fla.
“It was a good opportunity and allows me to be closer to my family,” said Adams, who arrived at WAAY in September 2007 and has a 4-year-old daughter, Addy.
“It’s tough because this has been a wonderful place for my daughter and I to live. All the viewers welcomed us with open arms. They’ve been phenomenal, and I’ll miss that.”
WAAY News Director Keith Lowhorne said he’s happy Adams is moving closer to her family and said the station wishes her well. More…
