Anchor Kristi Runyon Leaving Lexington’s WTVQ

By Merrill Knox

Kristi Runyon, an anchor at WTVQ in Lexington, is leaving the ABC-affiliate after 12 years. Her last day will be tomorrow.

“The news industry, and certainly WTVQ, has seen a lot of changes,” Runyon told the Lexington Herald-Leader. “Some of them have been for the better, and some of them haven’t.”

Runyon, the morning and noon anchor at the station, said it was time for her “to look for something outside the news business.” She has accepted a job in public relations.

News director Doug Hogan said Runyon’s replacement has been selected and is from outside the market.
