stancik_mclaughlinMeredith Stancik is leaving KBTX after ten years with the Bryan, Texas CBS affiliate.

The station said she wants to spend more time with her family.

“I’m going to miss everyone at KBTX, but at the same time I’m looking forward to spending more time with my two young children,” Stancik said. “I can’t wait to eat dinner as a family and kiss my kids goodnight. It has been a true blessing to work with a group of such talented journalists.”

KBTX also announced Kessler McLaughlin has been promoted to morning anchor. He will join Kristen Guilfoos and Natalie Ferrari in the coming weeks.

“I’m honored to step into this new position,” said McLaughlin. “KBTX and the entire Brazos Valley have been so good to me, and I look forward to delivering the news every morning. I’ve got some big shoes to fill, but we’ve got a great team that’s helping make the transition easier.”
