Nexstar Broadcasting has named Albert Gutierrez vice president and general manager of KTAB-KRBC, the CBS and NBC affiliates in Abilene-Sweetwater, Texas.
Gutierrez comes from KMID, Nexstar’s ABC affiliate in Midland, Texas, where he has been VP-GM since 2010. Earlier in his career, he worked in a local sales position at KRBC. He has worked at several other Texas stations throughout his career, including KLST-KSAN in San Angelo, KTEN in Sherman and KZAV in Brownsville.

ABILENE and IRVING, Texas (May 31, 2013) – Nexstar Broadcasting Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: NXST) announced today that Albert Gutierrez has been appointed Vice President/General Manager of KTAB-TV (CBS) and associated digital services, including community web portal BigCountryHomepage.com, serving the Abilene/Sweetwater, Texas DMA. In his new role, Mr. Gutierrez will also oversee Nexstar’s joint operating agreement with Mission Broadcasting’s KRBC-TV (NBC). The appointment, effective June 3, marks the return for Mr. Gutierrez to Abilene where early in his broadcasting career he held a local sales position at KRBC-TV. Since 2010, Mr. Gutierrez has served as the Vice President/General Manager of Nexstar’s KMID-TV (ABC) in Midland, Texas. In his new capacity at KTAB-TV, he will continue to report to Brian Jones, Co-Chief Operating Officer of Nexstar Broadcasting.
Throughout his tenure at KMID-TV, Mr. Gutierrez demonstrated effective broadcasting sales leadership, overseeing all local and national sales efforts while developing meaningful revenue streams for the station’s television, website, mobile, and commercial production verticals. Prior to KMID-TV, Mr. Gutierrez was the General Sales Manager for KLST-TV (CBS) and KSAN-TV (NBC) in San Angelo, TX. Before that he held local sales positions at KRBC-TV and KXVA-TV (FOX) in Abilene, TX. He has also held local and national sales positions at KTEN-TV (NBC) in Sherman, TX and KZAV-LP in Brownsville, TX.
