WTEN News 10 has hired former WNYT anchor Lydia Kulbida to lead its new 4 p.m. newscast, which launches later this month.
The moves are bold ones for WTEN, whose parent company, Young Broadcasting Inc., filed for bankruptcy protection back in February.
“I think it’s a huge deal,” WTEN News Director Rob Hubler said in an interview on Monday. “She’s been in the market and been very well respected for years.”
The 4 p.m. newscast, dubbed “News 10 at Four,” will begin Sept. 21.
“It’s something new and different that we’re trying,” Hubler said. More…
