Air Canada Spokesman Accidentally Sends Dismissive Email About KOVR to KOVR

A lesson for media professionals everywhere: always check your to/from fields. In response to an inquiry from KOVR this week, an Air Canada spokesperson accidentally sent the Sacramento CBS O&O a response dismissing their inquiry as just “local news.”

While reporting a story about how the airline lost a customer’s dog earlier this week, the Sacramento CBS O&O reached out to Air Canada to inquire “what procedures might not have been followed, and what they’re doing to make sure this doesn’t happen to anyone else’s pet,” reporter Maria Medina said.

In a message apparently intended for a co-worker, Air Canada spokesperson Peter Fitzpatrick responded to KOVR: “I think I would just ignore, it is local news doing a story on a lost dog. Their entire government is shut down and about to default and this is how the US media spends its time.”

The station aired the email as part of its report last night. Watch after the jump.
