After Just 2 Months, KTVU’s 11 p.m. News Is Already No. 1 in the Market

Fox-owned KTVU has long had the No. 1 10 p.m. newscast in the San Fransisco-San Jose-Oakland market. But just two months after launching an 11 p.m. newscast, KTVU can now claim it also has the top-rated 11 p.m. show in the advertiser-coveted A25-54 demo.

The KTVU 11 O’Clock News is averaged a 1.1 rating in the demo in May, compared to a 0.8 for ABC-owned KGO and CBS-owned KPIX, a 0.5 for NBC-owned KNTV and a 0.2 for Nexstar-owned KRON.

“This accomplishment is a reflection of the experience, dedication and creativity of our talented staff,” said KTVU vp and gm Gregg Kelley.

“We are humbled by the early success of ‘The 11 O’clock News’ and will continue to work hard to meet the high expectations of KTVU viewers, and the entire Bay Area,” added Amber Eikel, vp and news director of KTVU.

The formidable 10 p.m. news on KTVU is averaging a 1.6 rating in the demo vs. KRON’s 0.2.
