After ‘Extensive Search,’ KSHB Promotes Christa Dubill to Main Anchor

Christa Dubill has been tapped as co-anchor of KSHB‘s 5:00 and 10:00 p.m. newscasts, where she will appear alongside Mark Clegg.

Dubill, who has been anchoring the NBC-affiliate’s morning newscast since 2007, is replacing longtime anchor Elizabeth Alex. In January, Alex announced that she would be scaling back her anchoring duties to focus on humanitarian work.

“After a long and extensive search we are thrilled to promote Christa to the position,” said Mike Vrabac, vice president and general manager of KSHB-KMCI, in announcing the move. “She has been an integral part of our station growth and exhibited a leadership role in the news department.”

Dubill’s first day at 5:00 and 10:00 is set for July 4th.

“I look forward to stepping into viewers’ homes each night, taking a seat, and having a conversation about what’s new, what matters, and what makes sense,” she said.

Here’s a clip from a recent interview that Dubill conducted with Missouri Governor Jay Nixon:
