After Abruptly Leaving Buffalo’s WIVB, Mylous Hairston May Be in Line for Job at City Hall

By Andrew Gauthier

After abruptly departing Buffalo’s WIVB last week after 20 years with the station, veteran reporter-anchor Mylous Hairston appears close to finding his next job.

Hairston is now in preliminary talks with Buffalo mayor Byron W. Brown about becoming the city’s chief spokesperson, according to The Buffalo News.

Hairston reportedly met with members of Brown’s administration this week to discuss the position, which has been vacant for two weeks.

In an email exchange with the News, Hairston downplayed the discussions, saying that he was currently considering a handful of job options.

Hairston exited WIVB last week amid heated labor negotiations with the station’s parent company LIN Media.
