WSB-TV, the ABC affiliate in Atlanta, is losing its general manager.
The station announced Tim McVay will retire at the end of the year after 39 years in broadcasting.
“Tim has been a positive driving force for 39 years at Cox Media Group Television,” said CMG executive VP Jane Williams. “His tenure has included leadership positions in Dayton (WHIO-TV), Atlanta (WSB-TV), Pittsburgh (WPXI) and San Francisco (KTVU/KICU). Throughout his career, Tim has mentored, developed and coached many of our current leaders throughout the Television Division.”
He has spent his entire career with Cox, starting in 1979.
McVay has overseen the WSB for the past six years. His replacement has not been named.
