After 2 Years, Kim Fischer Out at KXAS in Dallas

By Merrill Knox

Kim Fischer, a reporter at NBC owned-and-operated KXAS in Dallas, has decided to leave the station in pursuit of other opportunities.

Fischer’s last day at the station will be tomorrow. In her goodbye memo, obtained by Uncle Barky’s Bytes, she told colleagues, “I was at a point in my contract where I could look for work as an anchor, an entertainment reporter or a number of other choices. I have several interesting opportunities in the works and the timing was right. I decided to take the leap and see what is next as I grow my career.”

Station management at KXAS told Uncle Barky’s Bytes that Fisher, who has been with the station since 2009, did not have a contract up for renewal and that the decision was entirely her own.
