Acting Fox LA News Director Pete Wilgoren Leaving Station

KTTV acting news director Pete Wilgoren has announced he is leaving the Los Angeles Fox owned station.

Saying he is “always grateful to be a journalist in this business,” Wilgoren broke the news on his social media accounts.

“Hi everyone, Today I am announcing that I will be leaving FOX11. I could not be more grateful to all of you, general manager Steve Carlston and the entire Fox leadership team for their support in my decision,” said Wilgoren. “Steve and I have had some thoughtful conversations about the future of the newsroom in recent weeks and it is clear that right now what is important to the organization is that we have new outside leadership in the vp/news director role to accompany our new direction across the station. No question a new perspective can be a good thing for everyone, me included, and as a result of our conversations, and with a heavy heart, I’ve made the decision to leave Fox11 to pursue my own new direction. I’m excited to see what’s next.”

Wilgoren was named acting news director after the departure of Erica Hill-Rodriguez in June 2022.  He started at KTTV in 2016 as news manager. Before that, he worked at KCBS and KCAL.
