Abilene’s KRBC Shakes Up On-Air Lineup

Kyna is out, Stephanie is in, and rumblings of a shake-up persist at KRBC-TV.

Late last week, longtime KRBC anchor Downing Bolls announced that Kyna Grigsby–his counterpart on the station’s nightly news–had quit to care for a loved one who fell ill.

This week Grigsby said she couldn’t comment on her departure without speaking to her attorney.

While acknowledging Stephanie Harris has been promoted to anchor the station’s 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. newscasts, replacing Grigsby, KRBC officials declined to discuss future plans for staffing its news operations, including whether Bolls will continue as anchor.

“Eric (Thomas) won’t allow to me to discuss the status/contracts of current employees,” said KRBC News Director Austin Kellerman, referring to the vice president of Nexstar and general manager of KTAB and KRBC. More…
