The ABC Television Network announced today it reached an agreement with Telecinco owned station WORA to be the new ABC affiliate in Puerto Rico.
ABC said its the first time the unincorporated US territory will see ABC programming broadcast on a full-power station. The press release announcing the move promised, “Viewers in Puerto Rico will be able to enjoy all of the ABC shows, sports, and news in full high definition.”
“Our goal is to position ABC as a leading network in this market, capturing the audience share it enjoys in other major US television markets,” Jose Vizcarrondo, president of Telecinco, Inc said. “ABC has a loyal following in Puerto Rico, and we will grow with wider distribution, high-quality HD network programming, relevant local content and an active presence in the community.”
