Now a Meteorologist Has Saved a Traffic Report

By Kevin Eck

Anchors and traffic folks take notice, the folks who do the weather are proving they are the glue that holds the newscast together.

Yesterday an Australian weather anchor saved a newscast after the news reader lost his voice. Today in Washington, D.C., meteorologist Eileen Whelan stepped in to save the morning traffic report on Newschannel 8.

Traffic reporter Julie Wright‘s mic went kaput, so Whelan got close, very, very close to Wright so viewers would know what roads to avoid during their commutes.
