Donna Lowry, Kevin Rowson and Keith Whitney from TEGNA’s Atlanta station WXIA will be taking the station group’s early retirement buyout.
Lowry is Georgia’s only full-time education reporter. She’s worked at the NBC affiliate since 1986. Rowson started in 1994. Whitney has worked there since 1993.
Rodney Ho of the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports “At least four photographers and a couple of others in the office also opted for the buyout. TV stations are employing more folks who are able to shoot their own stories without a photographer.”
