17 ABC Affiliates Team Up with ABC News for Investigative Piece

By Kevin Eck

ABC_304Tonight on “20/20,” ABC will air a Brian Ross investigation called “Recall Roulette.”

The story is about what ABC is calling the “flawed government recall system” and may seem familiar to some local viewers. Pieces were used as part of a partnership with the investigative teams of 17 ABC affiliates.

The way TVSpy hears it, Ross and the locals came together at the annual Investigative Reporters and Editors conference. After a series of conference calls, the team decided Ross would tell the story using experts and an interview with the Consumer Product Safety Commission chairman. The stations would then air their own stories with local victims and products added to Ross’ footage.
