World News, Nightline Strong With Palin

The first part of Charlie Gibson’s interview with Gov. Sarah Palin gave World News some of its best ratings in months, while it boosted Nightline over both The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and The Late Show with David Letterman.

According to Nielsen fast affiliate data, World News averaged 9.732 million Total Viewers and a 2.5/10 in the A25-54 demo rating/share. It was the highest viewership since February 12 and the highest demo delivery since March 24. NBC averaged 7.512 million and CBS averaged 6.158 million last night.

Using overnight household ratings and shares for Nightline, the program averaged 4.2/10, compared to NBC with 3.6/9 and CBS with 3.3/8.
