CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer made an impassioned defense of the First Amendment Monday, telling an adviser to Donald Trump “you don’t go after the First Amendment and freedom of the press, that is sacred.”

“You don’t try and undermine that and say you’re going to change the rules of the game, because free press is so critical to our country,” Blitzer told Trump adviser Jason Miller. “I assume you agree with me on that?”

Miller said he and Trump supported a free press, despite comments Trump made in an interview with a Miami television station, in which he said “our press is allowed to say whatever they want and get away with it. And I think we should go to a system where if they do something wrong … I think you should have the ability to sue them.”
