The new Sunday Today show with Willie Geist will launch April, 17, TVNewser has learned.
Geist, who has been a part of the Today show since 2012, will now helm what an insider tells us in a more thoughtful news show, in line with the other Sunday programs.
Geist has been very involved in the new-look show which will continue to originate from Studio 1A.

The hour-long Sunday Today airs at different times in different markets: At 6 a.m. in San Diego and Denver; 7 a.m. in Chicago and Los Angeles; 8 a.m. in Boston and Washington, DC and 9 a.m. in New York City. The goal is to provide a more seamless transition to Meet the Press which is the lead-out program on most NBC stations.
