Will Gibson, Sawyer Stay Up Till 10?

Highlights of Gail Shister‘s column in today’s Inquirer:

“The plan is for Gibson and Sawyer each to sit in twice a week, with Vargas going solo once. Both will continue on GMA – a daily double that would cripple most mortals half their age.

‘There are limitations, obviously,’ says WNT executive producer Jon Banner. ‘They have a huge responsibility in the mornings. We have to be realistic about the amount of time we expect from them.’

Translation: Don’t look for Gibson or Sawyer to stick around until 10 p.m. (Eastern time) for WNT’s live West Coast edition. Also, Vargas will anchor the lion’s share of ABC’s live 3 p.m. Webcasts.”

(Then does WNT really need two anchors?)

> Also: Banner is “hiring seven producers to help with the increased workload,” including the Webcast and the West Coast editions…

> “GMA chief Ben Sherwood says he’s aware of his anchors’ possible burnout, ‘but Diane and Charlie are made of different stuff than you and me. They have unbelievable stamina.'”
