As they take their show on the road to Iowa Monday, Today’s Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie will sit down with Sarah Palin for her first interview since endorsing Donald Trump–and first since that endorsement was parodied on Saturday Night Live.
Once a member of the media–that’s her, above left, in 1988 anchoring sports on KTUU-TV–Palin has had a love-hate relationship with the media since her 2008 VP run. She walks a fine line of being a part of a system she freely mocks. Palin spent 5 years (on and off) as a Fox News contributor until last June when her contract was not renewed. The Today show tapped Palin to co-host in April, 2012 (above, middle). Hours before Thursday’s debate, Palin wrote an 800-word Facebook post defending Trump’s decision to pull out of the final GOP face-off before Iowa.
Any “journalist” or media outlet perched upon a pedestal all spun up for ratings’ sake, pretending to be King Maker in a Presidential election, obviously can’t understand how passé and laughable an elitist attitude is to Americans.

Without mentioning her by name, Palin concluded Megyn Kelly should have been removed as moderator:
Is it just me, or if a debate host has made himself or herself the principal in a story they’re expected to objectively cover for the edification of the public, and they even acknowledge they’re the reason the frontrunner chooses not to participate, then isn’t it common sense (and courtesy to the voting public) to simply, humbly allow someone else to moderate the debate?
Her appearance Monday is as a guest, not a larger contributor role, a Today show spokesperson tells TVNewser. And so the TV bookings will continue, as will the Facebook posts, and there’s every reason to think Sarah Palin will continue to be a part of this wild ride that is the 2016 race for the White House.
