In response to a Better Government Association lawsuit, nearly 2,700 pages of Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel‘s emails were released Wednesday.
Longtime Chicago media reporter Robert Feder dug through many of them and reveals how the mayor works the media, and vice versa.
In one email from November, 2015, Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski asks Emanuel to intervene on behalf of her mother, the sculptor Emilie Brzezinski.
TVNewser attended the September, 2015 showing of Emilie Brzezinski’s work at the Society for the Arts Gallery in Chicago. Mayor Emanuel was among the guests who attended.
In another email, CNN’s Wolf Blitzer sought an interview:
Emanuel also took time to reach out to members of the media to tout Chicago Public Schools, sending identical emails to Blitzer, ABC’s George Stephanopoulos and several national print reporters.
