Who Else Does Rick Sanchez think is a Bigot?

By Chris Ariens

The TV news blog-buzz of the day is about CNN anchor Rick Sanchez and comments he made on Pete Dominick’s satellite radio show yesterday. Mediaite has the audio and transcript of the interview in which Sanchez called  Jon Stewart a “bigot” and suggested the people who run CNN and “a lot of people who run all the other networks are a lot like Stewart.”  In other words – from the east coast, suburban and Jewish.

Ken Jautz, who has been CNN/U.S. president for a week, is not Jewish. But he’s probably really pissed right now. CNN tells TVNewser they will be commenting on the matter later this afternoon.  >>> Update: Sanchez is not anchoring his show today. Brooke Baldwin is in for Sanchez, and made no mention of him being off. The 3pmET hour is still branded “Rick’s List.”

Anyway, TVNewser sat down with Sanchez a few weeks ago for our Media Beat series. He also used the B-word (bigot) to describe Glenn Beck. And Sanchez also says he has a good relationship with Fox News founder and Chairman Roger Ailes. Watch:

We’ll be running the rest of the interview next week. Sanchez talks about his upbringing, how he got in to TV news and how he ended up at CNN.
