Which Way Is The Exit?

By Chris Ariens

Since the exit poll debacles of 2000 and 2004, you’ll find that exit polls won’t be delivered until much closer to poll-closing time during the primaries and the general election. Even then, it will most likely be very generic information at first. Which made it all the more interesting when on FNC this morning, a lower third graphic reported “McCain, Obama lead in early exit polls in NH.”

Fox News tells TVNewser it was a producer “slip up.” The graphic should have read “polls” referring to the most recent polling data, rather than “early exit polls.”
