Speaker of the House Paul Ryan says Pres. Trump called him after Jeanine Pirro went on her Fox News show Saturday and called for Ryan’s resignation.
It might not have been an issue at all, if the president hadn’t tweeted earlier in the day urging people to watch the show.

In an interview with Ryan, that aired on CBS This Morning, Norah O’Donnell asked the Wisconsin Republican if the topic of Pirro’s tweet came up.
“Yeah, he called me and said…look, he was actually very apologetic about it in that he said that he had no idea that’s what she was going to talk about. He thought she was going to talk about something else, so really that was completely coincidental and he was right when he said that. He thought she was going to talk about something with respect to Russia.”
