WEEI Broadcaster Unhappy About Losing Show

By Noah Davis

On Wednesday, WEEI announced the station was splitting up its Dale & Holley program, match Michael Holley with Glenn Ordway and relegating Dale Arnold to the bench.

According to Boston Sports Media Watch, the latter host was upset by the news. On Wednesday afternoon’s show, he said he wished he’d taken an offer that came his way back in 2007 or 2008.

“Dale then said that he very much regrets turning down NESN’s offer three years ago to do the Bruins games full time. He said that at the time, he turned down the offer out of loyalty to WEEI, where he had just signed a new five-year contract.”

Arnold is pleased that he’ll be doing more play-by-play, but he’s not at all happy with his new role as the “first guy off the bench.”
