Watch ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith Threaten an NBA Star in Epic Rant

By Brian Flood

ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith did his best impression of a WWE wrestler this morning on First Take after Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant said Smith lied when he reported Durant was considering signing with the Lakers once his contract is up.

“I know that we, as reporters, don’t like to say this because it comes across as, you know, a bit boisterous or whatever the case may be,” Smith said. “My career spans 20-plus years. How many reporters do you know that has broken as many stories as I have?

Smith got more heated during the nearly six-minute rant , which was specifically directed at Durant.

“I am a black man on national television. With a big mouth. And I will still stand up here today and put my resume spanning 22-plus years up against anybody in this industry,” Smith said. “We really wanna go here? We really wanna start something with me? You sure about that?”

The First Take co-host ended the rant by saying, “You don’t want to make an enemy out of me. And I am looking right at the camera and I’m gonna say it again. You do not want to make an enemy out of me. I’m not having it.”
